Superior Sound - The common complaint with the Lotus Exige S is it's 'flat' sound. We have addressed this. Our System sounds phenomenal throughout the rev range and howls in the higher rev range. Using octave band frequency monitoring techniques we have been able to develop a System which produces the Larini 'Note' under acceleration as opposed to the resonance, drone and excessive volume present in other aftermarket systems. Using our custom 'inverted-ribbed' box casings we have developed an arrangement that manipulates, amplifies and tunes the existing sound to that of something far more. Our Rear Boxes sounds phenomenal.

The volume increases with revs so as not to intrude excessively into the cabin, but sounds fantastic when 'pushing', gaining volume with throttle input, and is perfectly practical for everyday use. You’re Exige S will now sound as spectacular as it looks. The howl on the 2nd cam is just phenomenal.

If you wish to increase the richness further of the Larini’s sound we recommend the replacement of the OE catalyst section with the Larini ‘Sports’ Cat, ‘Silenced’ De-Cat, or ‘De-Cat’ Pipe. Our Rear Box with the catalyst alternative options offers just the most intoxicating Supercar sound. Furthermore, you won’t just hear the difference, you will feel it. The car’s new found urgency will be truly staggering, putting real-world performance of the Exige S on par with almost any Supercar.

More Power - Our free flow design gives an extra 6 bhp approximately. Once the 'Club Sport' System is fitted to your car you will find that the engine is more free-revving and that there is an increase in low-down torque, with an improved throttle response.

The Exige S Toyota VVTi Supercharged engine is quite different to the arrangement of its normally aspirated variant. The Supercharged VVTi engine thrives on a reduction in backpressure over the standard arrangement. However, eliminate it drastically and the engine will loose power and torque. Developments such as redesigned 'straight-through' internal silencer pipe work, and larger diameter pipe work, help emit exhaust gasses quicker - with a reduced build up of backpressure, allowing the Supercharger and engine to 'breathe' and perform better. Expect much, much sharper throttle response.

Once fitted, low speed driveability is dramatically improved. The Larini ‘Club Sport’ reduces backpressure so as to make the power delivery of the car more linear, by aiding smoother supercharger performance. This makes the car significantly easier to drive at low rpm and reduces excessive throttle sensitivity whilst actually boosting power at high rpm. The 'Club Sport' System offers one of the most efficient means of releasing power from the Exige S’s engine.

Our system adjusts backpressure levels to their optimum to produce the correct levels of supercar performance and sound.

Additionally, this system has been developed to run on cars developing 300+ bhp, without restricting power.

Weight - 6.5 kilograms.

Visible Quality - Features a singular, inwardly rolled, Oval Tailpipe, lined with a perforated conical core. Tailpipes, box casings, inlets and brackets are all 'chromium' polished. Our Tailpipes perfectly fit the profile of the rear of the Exige S undertray diffuser. Our System features Tig welding and double skinned box casings for maximum durability and sound control.

From when you first take delivery and open the box you will see the difference.

Ease of Fit - Our System fits perfectly to the 'cat' and mountings, requiring no special procedures or modifications to the car or cutting of the undertray exit points.

Guarantee - Larini Systems Lifetime Warranty.

5. Lotus Exige S, Larini 'Race' System:

- Custom developed initially for the upgraded ‘supercharged pack' cars, the Larini 'Race' System is unrivalled. System features include a featherweight silencer with an additional detachable mid-silencer, or replacement straight pipe, and optimised 2.5 inch tube diameters throughtout for extreme fast-road, and track work. This system offers the ultimate exotic-car sound for these vehicles, with substantial performance gains. The pure F1 howl howl on the second cam is unrivalled!

- The System is supplied with both an additional detachable mid silencer, and detachable straight pipe section, which are interchangeable depending on circumstances.

- Fitting of popular aftermarket performance components, such as supercharger pulleys or manifolds/sports cats, will help aid power release from the engine and in turn raise supercharger efficiency/performance levels. However, this will cause the supercharger to become significantly louder – producing an intrusive whining noise, which can become tiring on long journeys. Furthermore, this whining noise turns into a ‘drone’ when cruising at constant speed. Hence we provide the option of fitting the additional mid-resonator with the ‘Race’ exhaust, when an Exige S is equipped with these other mods. This mid-resonator eliminates the whine and drone to leave only the tuned, aggressive sound of the ‘Race’ exhaust System - simply AWESOME! Our clever design ensures that with increasing revs the tone, note, and pitch also increase. Decrease throttle opening and volume levels reduce. Our free-flow box internals allow torque and power gains while maintaining driveability. No other product on the market offers the same acoustic quality as our lightweight ‘Race’ exhaust.

- Engineered for massively improved flow efficiency, using expertly engineered internal ‘straight-through’ silencer pipework.

- With the straight pipe in place, performance and sound are unrivalled by any other aftermarket product available in the market.

- This is as close as it gets to controllable ‘Racecar’ style performance and F1 sound for the Lotus Exige S.

- Larini 'Race' system without resonator = 99db measured from 1 metre @4500 rpm at a 45 degree angle, +9bhp power gain.

- The additional mid-resonator can be added in easily, as engine output increases/track noise limits apply etc, as required.

- Larini 'Race' System with resonator = 97db measured from 1 metre @4500rpm at a 45 degree angle, +7bhp power gain.

- No interior cabin 'drone' or 'boom' issues, provided the system is configured correctly.

- Custom 'inverted-ribbed' box casings help control excessive sound ‘boom’ while allowing a sculpted, tuned sound.

- In either guise, offers masive weight savings over the factory exhaust. Weighs in at 5-6 kilograms only approximately.

- Lightweight, Dual-Walled, Slash cut tips exit further than original and offer a stunning finishing look.

The Exige S factory catalyst section incorporates a large divider internally running down the centre of its pipework. This is to regulate excessive back pressure levels for the restrictive OE exhaust. This arrangement saps power.

The Larini ‘De-Cat’ Pipe is a high temperature resistant, hollow pipe, which replaces the highly restrictive OE catalytic converter. Exhaust flow is completely unobstructed through this 'straight-through' component and as result there is an extremely noticeable power gain. Temperatures are reduced too, as accelerated gas-flow minimizes engine-bay temperatures by dissipating heat more effectively. This is particularly important for improved performance, as cooler temperatures boost engine efficiency while protecting the Supercharger from premature failure, by reducing engine bay heat-soak. Supercharger performance is notably aided, once coupled with the Larini de-cat pipe.

Furthermore, the muffling effect provided by the bulky stock cat is eliminated, subtly enhancing volume levels.

9. Lotus Exige S, Larini ‘Silenced De-Cat’ Pipe:

• Delivers an extra 9 bhp approximately.
• Delivers an extra 14 lb-ft of torque approximately.
• Vastly freer flowing in comparison to the standard catalytic converter.

• Pipework and bosses are fully 'Satina' Polished and 'Lime Chalk' waxed.
• Mandrel bent pipe work allows a constant internal diameter, maintaining a smooth, constant gas flow.
• Constructed using aircraft grade T.316 Austenitic Stainless Steel.
• 100% Tig welding construction.
• Correctly positioned, heat-distortion resistant, CNC-machined stainless steel Lambda bosses and heat probe connections.
• Precision engineered for accurate fit.
• Requires no special procedures to fit.
• The original heat shielding is retained.
• Supported by the Larini Systems Lifetime Warranty.

The Exige S factory catalyst section incorporates a large divider internally running down the centre of its pipework. This is to regulate excessive back pressure levels for the restrictive OE exhaust. This arrangement saps power.

The Larini ‘Silenced De-Cat’ Pipe replaces the massively restrictive factory catalytic converter, with 'straight-through' pipework, wrapped in a mini resonator. This products delivers similar gains and power increases as the de-cat pipe, but is 'silenced' using a mini-resonator to reduce volume for those who want more power, with only a slight increase in volume levels.

Furthermore, torque increase is typically higher than that of a de-cat pipe as backpressure levels are modulated optimally.

10. Lotus Exige S, Larini ‘Sports’ Cat:
• Delivers an extra 7 bhp approximately.
• Delivers an extra 16 lb-ft of torque approximately.
• 200 cells per square inch for maximum flow with minimal backpressure.
• No adverse legal, environmental or technical implications.
• Guarantees a more free-revving engine with improved throttle response.
• Significant horsepower gains and a huge increase in torque.
• Engineered for maximum flow efficiency, using complex internal METALLIC Cat ‘cores’ (Larini Metalith).
• Parabolic megaphone inlet cone design guarantees even flow distribution across the Metalith core - whilst minimizing packaging length.
• Reversion pulse outlet cone activates catalytic material for full length of the Metalith.
• Ultra durable T.316 Austenitic stainless steel heat casing protects components from heat distortion.
• ‘Cat’ is rated up to 350 bhp.
• Vastly freer flowing in comparison to the standard ceramic cat.
• Direct bolt-on replacement for the OE catalyst.
• Massively accelerated gas-flow reduces engine bay and operating temperatures, while reducing engine bay heat-soak.
• Cat section is fully 'Mirror Finish' Polished.
• 100% Tig welding construction.
• Correctly positioned, heat-distortion resistant, CNC-machined stainless steel Lambda bosses and heat probe connections.
• Precision engineered for accurate fit.
• The original heat shielding is retained.

Furthermore, torque increase is higher than that of a de-cat pipe as backpressure levels are modulated optimally. Once fitted, no modifications will be required to the engine management system.

NB: Vehicles manufactured post 1994 require a catalytic converter for U.K. MOT emissions legislation. Vehicles subject to U.K. police roadside emissions checks may struggle if running a de-cat pipe. They will not if equipped with a Larini 'Sports' Cat - in fact they will register cleaner emissions over the OE catalyst.

Technical:

The Lotus Exige S incorporates a single, 600 cell per square inch ceramic 'cat', offering an approximate 55% flow area. The factory cat is hugely restrictive. In addition, the catalyst section incorporates a large divider internally, running down the centre of its pipework, to regulate excessive pressure levels for the restrictive OE exhaust. Ultimately, this combined arrangement saps power. Enhancing power from within this area involves carefully tuning the cat to work with the manifold.

A Larini METALLIC ‘Sports’ Cat for the Exige S incorporates only 200-cells, is rated up to 300 bhp, and offers a flow area of approximately 96%. This arrangement is the performance ideal - significantly adjusting backpressure levels and enabling increased flow rates. Exhaust flow is almost completely unobstructed through this 'sports' component and as result there is an extremely noticeable power gain. Once fitted, one can expect much sharper throttle response from a now free-revving engine, with cooler operating temperatures. Temperatures are reduced, as accelerated gas-flow minimizes engine-bay temperatures by dissipating heat more effectively. This is particularly important for improved performance, as cooler temperatures boost engine efficiency while protecting the manifold and Supercharger from damage.

A Larini Cat is Euro-3 emissions level rated - returning cleaner emission results than the standard catalyst, making it possible for vehicle tuners to obtain high power gains, whilst meeting government emission levels and staying road-legal with high reliability. There are no negative technical consequences associated with fitting this innovative product. Furthermore, fitting the Larini ‘Sports’ Cat guarantees an increase in the crispness of the engine’s 'note' and 'tone'.

The improved quality of a Larini ‘Sports’ Cat is immediately noticeable as soon as it is removed from its box.

MANIFOLD OPTIONS

An Exige S equipped with Larini Manifold, Rear Boxes, ‘Sports’ Cat, ‘Silenced’ De-Cat, or ‘De-Cat’ Pipe will offer a truly staggering acoustic opera with simply shattering performance. Under acceleration the car simply hankers down under throttle load and seemingly accelerates endlessly.

11. Lotus Exige S, Larini 4-1 ‘Sports’ Manifold:

* This replaces the massively restrictive standard manifold, with longer ‘Equal Length’ tubular pipework, offering noticeable power and torque gains. ECU reflash required for maximum performance gains/optimization. Please Note: Our manifold is supplied with an adaptor for those wishing to fit the 4-1 branch component to the OE catalyst, a (previously purchased) standard fitment Larini ‘De-Cat’ Pipe, Silenced ‘De-Cat’ Pipe, or ‘Sports’ Cat. Unlocking power from the Lotus involves carefully tuning the manifold to work with the Exige’s lively Toyota engine and the brutal supercharger of the ‘S’. A highly developed 4-1 arrangement is ideal for this.

- A Stainless Steel 'fast road' use 4-1 sports manifold, engineered for optimal flow efficiency, using heavily redesigned ‘Equal Length’ pipe work.

- Features Formula 1 inspired ‘stepped’ primary pipes to allow for maximum tube diameter graduation increase away from the cylinder head

- Features initial 48mm Primary pipes, 8.5 inches in length, ‘stepping’ up to 51mm Primaries, 21 inches in length.

- Enlargement of the diameter of the primary pipes increases the internal flow area, allowing for a substantial improvement of the flow-rate and velocity of the exhaust gasses.

- Expelled exhaust gasses ‘pulse’ out of the engine. By increasing the primaries to be of equal and maximum length, a smooth, unobstructed gas-flow path is offered.

- Lengthy Primaries unite into F1 style ‘merge’ collector for optimal flow transfer into the cat/de-cat section and reduction of gasses ‘backing up’ to the engine.

- Manifold-Cat connection adapter is 70mm in diameter and 2 inches long.

- Sports Manifold adapter fits to Cat/De-Cat unit etc. using 'OE' gasket/bolts/ flexi-Springs arrangement (thereby negating the need for incorporating a flexible bellow section into the Sports Manifold).

- Massively accelerated gas-out flow reduces engine bay temperatures, protecting the Supercharger from damage, while optimising performance.

- Increased performance massively reduces engine bay heat-soak.

- Offers vastly improved low-mid range Torque.

- Enables significantly sharper throttle response.

- Perfect for 'fast road' or 'normal' use, without affecting driveability or inducing flat spots.

- Features Mandrel bent pipe work allowing a constant internal diameter, maintaining a smooth, constant gas flow.

- Constructed using aircraft grade T.316 Austenitic stainless steel (as this grade of steel can withstand excessive heat soak while performing correctly).

- Features 'Mirror' polished pipe work, for improved aesthetics.

- 100% Tig welding construction

- Precision engineered for accurate fit to the cylinder head.

- Requires no special procedures to fit.

- Carefully routed lower primary pipes to allow sufficient clearance around the lower subframe to allow tolerance for excessive engine movement.

- Precision, laser cut, stainless steel mounting flanges and brackets, for easy fit and removal.

- Supported by the Larini Systems Lifetime Warranty.

Once this 4-1 tubular masterpiece is fitted to an Exige S, and when coupled with our Club Sport/Race System, the owner can expect a horsepower increase of 10-15 horsepower approximately. This is THE definitive manifold for the Lotus Exige S, offering major power and torque gains WITHOUT affecting driveability. Furthermore, the ‘note’ and ‘tone’ of the engine is significantly improved once our manifold is fitted – which offers a pleasant acoustic improvement over the flat sound from the standard Toyota derived item.

The performance characteristics of a supercharger result in major heat dissipation, which may cause inferior headers to lengthen. However, Type 316 stainless steel has the ability to withstand these fluctuating heat
levels whilst performing as required.

Our 4-1 tubular Manifold consists of two pieces, with the Larini item replacing the restrictive standard manifold and top half of a standard fitting cat section (which must be cut away). We supply the sports manifold with an appropriate adapter, to enable fitment to a shortened OE cat section, or custom Larini variants (as listed below):

- with custom Larini ‘De-Cat’ Pipe:

* Designed for fitment to the Larini ‘Sports’ Manifold only. This replaces the massively restrictive catalytic converter, with 'straight-through' pipework, offering significant power and acoustic gains, with the Larini ‘Sports’ Manifold.
• Delivers an extra 11 bhp approximately.
• Delivers an extra 12 lb-ft of torque approximately

- with custom Larini ‘Silenced De-Cat’ Pipe:

* Designed for fitment to the Larini ‘Sports’ Manifold only. This replaces the massively restrictive catalytic converter, with 'straight-through' pipework, wrapped in a mini resonator. This offers similar performance gains as the de-cat pipe, with the Larini ‘Sports’ Manifold, but with reduced volume levels.
• Delivers an extra 9 bhp approximately.
• Delivers an extra 14 lb-ft of torque approximately.

http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=TQpq8Oq58_A
